Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 1 qualification in hairdressing/barbering and/or a successful skills test and interview.
This is one of two VTCT qualifications in barbering at Level 2. This qualification allows learners to gather evidence in a realistic working environment or real working environment without the need for fee paying clients. Learners on completion of this qualification will become a qualified junior men's hairdresser.
In contrast, the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering (QCF) requires learners to work in a commercial hairdressing salon whereby assessments must be carried out on real paying clients in line with commercial service times; learners on completion will become a qualified junior barber.
This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a junior men's hairdresser including: health and safety; client consultation; shampoo and conditioning hair; the research unit -
